Mystcraft 0.10.11

So the Forge PR I’d made went through pretty quickly, but I spent some time after that trying to improve the system overall. It should do lots better in terms of memory churn, though the footprint is still a bit large.
There were also some general features and things added. I added a Gas block type to the grammar, so those will be handled correctly. Some existing ages with lakes or oceans of gas “fluids” may exhibit strange behavior, though. Mostly they are likely to fall back to their respective default blocks and the modifier symbols they had are likely to become instability, but you probably didn’t use those ages for much anyway. 😉
I also forced Minecraft to correctly unload Ages. This is a fix for ages only, so it won’t affect other dims, but it makes me happier.
Check the full changelog linked below for everything and let me know in the Mystcraft Forums what you think an if you find any new issues. 🙂

To recap: there is only one download (found at the bottom of this post); This file is the universal install for client and server; it no longer goes in the jar.
Mystcraft goes in the mods folder.

Note that there are a couple changes between the video and the current mod, particularly that colors and things are easier to write. If you follow the tutorial, you’ll do great.

  1. Is it intentional that this version requires forge 9.11.1.932 where the recommended build is still 9.11.1.916 ?

    1. Yes. Even says so in the change log. 🙂 It requires a specific feature that came in that Forge build (the change I made and was talking about). I didn’t just pull that number out of the air. 😉

EDIT: Actually, the changelog indicates a later version of Forge. Thanks for the correction, cri5ti. 🙂

      1. I tried using this with a newer version of forge and it Will not run on my client or server saying it HAS to have that specific version of forge

        1. Shouldn’t be the case, as I have it set up to use “after”.
It’s been requiring “after” 595 for a long time, so I know that’s not how this works. 😉 Hopefully you can get it sorted. 🙂

          1. I am having this exact problem as well. MC refuses to start. Instead it shows a message about Mystcraft requiring a specific Forge version. And the version it prints as requirement is older than the one currently installed.
On Ubuntu, but that shouldn’t make any difference.

          2. Same issue here. Downloaded the latest forge, but requires the older version.

    2. Actually, the changelog says it requires forge 938 or later.
Thank god there was no version 932 in the list, or I would have downloaded that, thanks to your comment.

  2. Please help! I have absolutely no idea how to get Mystcraft installed and all the different installation pages make no sense. I actually purchased Minecraft so I could play this, so someone please help.

  3. i put the compressed file in the resource packs folder and nothing happened, how do i play it?

  4. I can’t get the mod to work correctly on my server.
I have Forge 9.11.1.916 installed, placed the .zip-files in the mod folder.
When I start the server i get the following error:

Any idea what the problem might be?

I tried this version of mystcraft because the earlier one I tried crashed the server when I tried to enter an Age :/
